I was just pointing out that I personally don't mind opting-in to all these services for my own convenience and therefore my privacy rights are NOT being infringed upon in the first place. When they step over the line and do things people haven't agreed to (such as using webcams to secretly record people without consent, collecting data on people who opt-out of such collection, etc) then I am all for the government putting a stop to it. But to me, opt-in data collection, personal accounts, etc employed by companies for the purposes of making my life easier and more convenient does not in any way infringe on my actual privacy rights. I think the government absolutely should be protecting the personal privacy rights of its citizens and have never said anything contrary to that.

I prefer to use my MS account because I enjoy the benefits of doing so (having all of my various MS platforms tied together, not having to worry about updating any of my machines, easily being able to find useful / interesting apps for my PC in a single, easy to navigate Store, etc) and honestly, I find it absolutely no different than using my Google account for my phones, or my Apple account for my iPads or Apple Music. I never said anything whatsoever about "Not caring about privacy rights" so I don't know where you got that notion? AFAIK, using a MS account (or indeed a PC at all) is NOT compulsory and all of the stuff that I mentioned personally doing myself are things that I have actually agreed to of my own volition. Update: TechPowerUp did the good work that Maxon should have thought of:Ĭlick to expand. That quote, uh, doesn't apply to a single point I made in the post you quoted me. And I wouldn't be surprised if this R20 release was a rushed response to the mod. Maybe we should just keep using CINEBENCH R15 EXTREME - Unofficial MOD. But this is a free benchmark we're talking about, this was completely unneeded.

The 10 limit install is going to throw havoc onto reviewers' routines, just like Origin and other game services do with game benchmarks across different system configurations. Overall, I guess that they don't want people to use this. Bafflingly, taking into consideration the above, Maxon's website says that R20 supports Windows 7 and up.Īs an aside, the rendered scene is not iconic as the one from R15 and before. I get them dropping the GPU test as it was not the core focus of the benchmark for most, but making it only available for download through walled garden stores? Now you have to sign-in to your Microsoft account (or create one if you don't have one) in order to download it and it's limited to installs on 10 devices on the account, so another DRM-type deterrent to use it as a proper benchmark across systems.
